Vitor Miranda was born in Joinville, Santa Catarina, Brazil. When growing up, he was interested in martial arts but did not start training before turning 21, when his friend introduced him to Muay Thai. After only two years of practice and at the same time working part time as a video store clerk, Vitor turned pro in 2001. He made his K-1 debut in 2003, quit his job and became a full time fighter.
