Claude Patrick Joins

Deerfield Beach, Fla. – Authentic Sports Management® (ASM®) today announced the addition of UFC® welterweight Claude “The Prince” Patrick to its roster of top athletes. With an overall record of 14-1, Patrick is on a 13-fight win streak and is undefeated in his three fights in the UFC Octagon. A grappling specialist, “The Prince” will start his training camp in Toronto and finish in South Florida with the Blackzilians for his next UFC bout.

“This one of the best moves I’ve made in my career, I’ve never had a management team that does everything, so I’m looking forward to working with Glenn Robinson and everyone at ASM, and especially to training with Rashad Evans, Tyrone Spong, and all the guys down in South Florida,” said Patrick. “I know this is going to make me an even better fighter, and bringing some Jamaican flair to the Blackzilians will make for an even stronger team.”

Born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, Patrick began learning combat sports at the age of 13 when he took up karate. “The Prince” made his professional MMA debut in 2002, and fought in promotions such as King of the Cage and the International Fight League (IFL) early on. During this time, he also trained with current UFC Welterweight Champion Georges St-Pierre.

After running his record to 11-1 with 11 finishes, Patrick earned the attention of the UFC and signed with the promotion in March of 2010. He made his UFC debut at UFC 115 with an impressive choke-out of Ricardo Funch, and then defeated James Wilks and Daniel “Ninja” Roberts. Patrick’s next fight is scheduled for UFC 140 on December 10 in his hometown of Toronto, where he will take on Rich Attonito, and attempt to bring home his most important victory to date.

I am really optimistic about my next fight, I get a lot of support in Toronto and I know that I’m going to be a much improved, more dynamic fighter going into UFC 140,” said Patrick. “I want to thank all my fans in Canada for their support, I’m going to give them a great fight on Dec. 10.”
